Mycologist listed the first signs of mushroom poisoning

Mycologist Maxim Dyakov spoke about the signs of mushroom poisoning. In conversation with aif.ru On Friday, July 31, he noted that they may not appear immediately.

The expert warned that due to the variety of toxins, symptoms of mushroom poisoning can appear both almost immediately and after two weeks. According to him, especially the late development of symptoms is typical for deadly spider beetles. In this case, deaths are most often associated with amatoxins contained in the pale grebe, bordered galerina and some other fungi.

Dyakov explained that poisoning usually begins with typical gastrointestinal symptoms - nausea, digestive disorders, fever and chills. He stressed that if any ailments appear after eating mushrooms, it is necessary to consult a doctor as soon as possible. Before receiving medical attention, the specialist recommended gastric lavage, noting that this is a universal measure for any poisoning.

Dyakov added that it is impossible to predict the rate of development of severe consequences, since it depends on the state of the body and the amount of mushrooms eaten.

In addition, the mycologist warned against using red fly agaric. According to him, despite its popularity, this mushroom has no useful properties. The expert noted that it usually does not pose a mortal danger unless you eat a very large amount, but it can gradually destroy the nervous system.
