Denmark called on the EU to consider suspending Spain's membership in the Schengen area

The European Union (EU) should consider suspending Spain's participation in the Schengen area amid the massive influx of migrants to the Spanish enclave of Ceuta. This was announced on July 31 by Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.

"It goes without saying that the EU should immediately take all necessary measures and consider all options, including suspending cooperation within the Schengen area," The Local online publication reports her words.

According to Frederiksen, uncontrolled migration poses a threat to Europe and Denmark.
