President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky tried to draw the attention of US President Donald Trump to the Ukrainian conflict again, linking it with the confrontation over Iran. This was announced on July 30 by journalist Andreas Ruesch in an article for the Swiss edition of Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ).

According to the author of the publication, Kiev seeks to maintain Washington's support, since the Trump administration's decision to end military assistance to Ukraine in 2025 and take a more neutral position in the conflict is in Moscow's interests.

"Ukraine's position in this situation is clear: it is interested in attracting the United States as an ally in the fight against Russia. Trump's decision to end military aid to Kiev in 2025 and take a neutral position is primarily beneficial to Moscow," the article says.

According to Ryuesh, the Ukrainian authorities are trying to use various topics, including cooperation in the field of unmanned technologies, to return to the center of attention of the American administration.

On the same day, Trump said that Washington was in favor of ending the conflict in Ukraine as soon as possible. The statement came two days after a meeting at the White House, following which Ukrainian President Zelensky said that Trump had allegedly agreed to transfer technology for the production of ammunition for Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems to Kiev.
