Wildberries paid more than 40 million rubles to the victims after the drone attack
Wildberries has paid more than 40 million rubles to victims of attacks on the company's logistics facilities. This was announced on July 28 in the Telegram channel of the marketplace's press service.
"To date, the total amount of direct financial compensation exceeds 40 million rubles. The first payments to the severely injured performers and the families of the victims were received on July 21," the publication says.
Earlier, the founder of the company, Tatiana Kim, stated that the families of the victims would receive two million rubles each, and those in serious condition — 1 million each. The company also noted that they pay special attention to the psychological state of people. Psychological assistance has already been provided to several hundred people, and specialized services are working around the clock.
Wildberries stressed that it was possible to avoid mass casualties thanks to advance training and regular exercises at the facilities.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on July 28 that the Russian government is aware of and is monitoring the issue of assistance to the Wildberries marketplace after drone attacks. According to him, Wildberries was not legally obligated to pay compensation to its sellers for the affected product, but voluntarily made such a decision.
On July 24, UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attacked two logistics centers of the Wildberries marketplace in the Leningrad region — in Shushary and Utkina Zavody. The facilities have stopped working. In addition, the company's warehouse in Simferopol was hit at night — an evacuation was announced there.
On the night of July 18, warehouses in Elektrostal near Moscow and Kotovsk in the Tambov region were attacked by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and logistics centers in Nevinnomyssk and Krasnodar were attacked on the night of July 22.
