The second magnetic storm has been recorded on Earth since the beginning of July.

On Thursday, July 23, the second magnetic storm began on Earth since the beginning of the month, the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy (XRAS) reported.

"At the very end of a two—day stay in the perturbed plasma of the coronal hole, the Earth's magnetosphere nevertheless decided not to let the forecasters down and colored the graphs of the geomagnetic indices red," the laboratory said in a statement on its Telegram channel.

Experts classified the event according to the G1 category, which corresponds to the minimum level on the scale of geomagnetic disturbances. According to the preliminary forecast, the current storm may last until the middle of Friday, July 24.

The previous similar phenomenon was recorded in early July. That storm was much more powerful and reached the G3 level, remaining until now the only serious geomagnetic disturbance this month.
