Catherine Square to be renovated in the center of Moscow

Specialists of the municipal economy complex have started landscaping the Catherine Square in the center of Moscow. This was announced on July 23 by the Deputy Mayor of the capital for Housing and Communal Services and landscaping, Peter Biryukov.

According to him, as part of the program to create a comfortable urban environment, Yekaterininsky Square in the Meshchansky district between Durova, Delegatskaya and Samotechnaya Streets will be renovated this year. The main objective of the project is to make the territory more modern and functional, while maintaining a popular place for walking and recreation, the Moscow City News Agency reports.

Biryukov noted that the existing layout of the park will remain unchanged. During the work, the covering of the main and secondary alleys will be renewed, the territory near the monument to "Soldiers who defended Peace and Freedom in the Fight against Fascism" will be put in order, new benches will be installed in harmony with cast-iron fences, and a new lawn will be laid, Moscow 24 writes.

The deputy mayor added that this year work is also underway in the nearby Catherine Park and Novo-Catherine Square.
