School assignments need to be checked verbally so that students can explain how they completed the work. This approach will reduce the use of artificial intelligence in education. This was announced on July 19 by Vladislav Grib, Deputy Secretary of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation.

"A student should not be allowed to complete his homework with the help of artificial intelligence, pass, get an A. Homework needs oral verification, and oral verification is mandatory. That is, you didn't just bring the written work, but you must verbally explain how you did it," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

At the same time, Grib stressed that more time should be devoted to the oral review of homework in the lessons. In his opinion, students should prove their knowledge, because otherwise the use of AI will only grow, which will become self-deception for both students and teachers.

Students in grades 9-11 trust their teacher more, but they use neural networks more often when preparing for exams.

Marina Koneva, Chief Specialist of the Institute for the Study of Childhood, Family and Upbringing, announced on July 15 that the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia had determined a list of actions of the teaching staff in case of violation of discipline by a student in the 2026/27 academic year. At the first violation of the order during classes, the teacher should limit himself to measures of pedagogical influence. If a student repeatedly violates the rules in the same lesson, the teacher gets the right to involve those responsible for discipline in the situation in order to conduct a preventive conversation.
