The expert spoke about the possibility of receiving 30 thousand rubles for 10 days of sick leave.

The amount of temporary disability allowance for 10 days of illness with an experience of at least eight years may exceed 30 thousand rubles in 2026. Igor Balynin, an associate professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, told about this on July 19.

"If, for example, a citizen is ill for 10 days, then the amount of the allowance for 10 years of service will be 31,373 rubles," Balynin said in an interview with TASS.

The expert stressed that the amount of the payment directly depends on the length of service and the average earnings of the employee over the past two years. So, Balynin clarified that the average salary in 2024 was 89,069 rubles, and in 2025 — 101,784 rubles.

According to the rules, the length of insurance determines the percentage of coverage for lost earnings. With an experience of up to five years, the employee is paid 60%, from five to eight years — 80%, and if the experience is eight years or more — 100%.

"The percentage of lost earnings coverage is determined by the employee's insurance experience <...>. Therefore, the average daily earnings are multiplied by the corresponding percentage. With an insurance record of three years, we will multiply by 60%, in five years by 80%, and in 10 years by 100%," Balynin explained.

Based on these calculations, in 2026, the daily allowance for people with up to five years of experience will amount to 1,882 rubles, from five to eight years — 2,510 rubles, and for people with more than eight years of experience — 3,137 rubles. Thus, for 10 days of sick leave, citizens with up to five years of experience will receive 18,824 rubles.

Payment is difficult: half of Muscovites receive less than 115 thousand rubles.

Alexander Yuzhalin, head of the legal practice at SuperJob, said on July 12 that an employee can get sick leave without being ill if they need to take care of a sick child. He noted that medical organizations most often issue a disability certificate (or sick leave) in case of injury or illness of the employee himself.
