Miroshnik called Trump's statements at the NATO summit a PR stunt on the eve of the election

The statements made by US President Donald Trump at the NATO summit in Ankara primarily pursue his own political goals and should be perceived as a PR move on the eve of the elections. This was stated to Izvestia by the ambassador-at-large of the Russian Foreign Ministry for crimes of the Kiev regime Rodion Miroshnik.

"Trump is pursuing his own goals, not the goal of conflict resolution. This is a secondary background for Trump's decisions. He praised one, praised the other, came to the NATO summit and said that everyone was "good guys." And the most important thing is to reach agreements that he really needs in the context of the upcoming elections," the diplomat said.

According to him, Trump's statements should be viewed precisely through the prism of PR, which are often aimed at promoting his own interests rather than at real implementation in the form of specific political projects.

"Therefore, Trump has repeatedly said that "everything is very close to completion," and now "everything will happen." But a long enough period of time has passed," Miroshnik added.

European countries are taking the costs on themselves, but they have practically nothing to help Kiev with.

Earlier, Trump said that Ukraine would be granted a license for the independent production of interceptor missiles for Patriot complexes. The president described relations with Zelensky as "very good," and called the meeting itself "just the beginning." In recent weeks, "great progress" has been made in the settlement, he said.
