Iran has promised to respond to the attacks in a two-to-one ratio
The Iranian authorities will not give up control of the Strait of Hormuz and intend to maintain control over the strategic waterway by responding to attacks in the direction of the Islamic State in a two-to-one ratio. This was reported on July 8 by the Press TV channel, citing a security source.
According to him, Tehran's resolve was strengthened by the events of the last 48 hours, after which the state switched to an updated military-strategic doctrine. The document stipulates that any attack on Iranian territory will be met with a crushing response.
"Iran will strike back at enemy targets in a ratio of at least two to one — that is, for every Iranian facility hit, there will be at least two enemy targets hit," the newspaper writes.
It is also noted that in case of any attack on the country, the Strait of Hormuz will be completely closed to navigation. The source also spoke about recent threats from US President Donald Trump.
"Iran does not distinguish between the United States and its partners in the region. Trump will gain nothing from these threats, but he will surely lose both control over the Strait of Hormuz and the opportunity to conclude a final agreement. The choice is his," the article says.
On the same day, on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara, Trump warned that American troops could launch new attacks on Iran next night.
It became known about the powerful strikes on Iran on the same day. One of the American officials noted that the attacks had become more widespread than all those that had been carried out before.
