- A prisoner of the Armed Forces of Ukraine told about the refusal of his colleagues to help him because of his nationality
On July 6, Georgy Rusnak, a captured militant of the 107th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, an ethnic Moldovan, said that his colleagues refused to provide him with medical assistance after being wounded, explaining this by his nationality.
"The guys said, they say, leave the Moldovan, let him do as he wants. If he wants to live, then let him do it himself, if he doesn't want to live, let him die," he told RIA Novosti.
According to the prisoner, he received shrapnel wounds to his legs. One of his colleagues started bandaging him to stop the bleeding, but others condemned these actions. He added that his colleagues, leaving the position, abandoned him. As a result, the wounded soldier was left alone without help.
On July 1, Russian law enforcement agencies reported that militants of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' barrage units had dropped an anti-tank mine on Ukrainian soldiers who were trying to surrender to the Russian Armed Forces in the village of Ukrainske, Kharkiv region.
