Pregnant women, parents of children under the age of 14, and caregivers of sick relatives have the legal right to transfer to part-time work. The specialist stressed that the same right is reserved for women who are on parental leave.
"A woman can also work part—time while on parental leave until she reaches the age of three," the lawyer added.
According to Baldina, in these cases, the establishment of a shortened schedule is not the right, but the duty of the employer, if there is a corresponding application from the employee. When caring for a sick family member, a medical certificate is a prerequisite.
Alexander Yuzhalin, head of the legal practice at SuperJob, said on July 2 that an employee has the right to leave work earlier, provided that the time allotted for his lunch break has not been used, as well as if this is permitted by internal labor regulations and agreed with his superiors.
