Russians who climbed the Empire State Building were released from custody

Russian roofers Angela Nicolau and Ivan Beerkus, who climbed to the top of the Empire State Building in New York, have been released from custody. This was reported by USA Today on July 2, citing a statement from the prosecutors.

"A pair of extreme athletes who conquered the Empire State Building in New York were released from custody under supervision after a court hearing," the publication says.

It is specified that the Russians were released without bail. The next meeting will be held on August 24.

Fox News reported on the same day that Nicolau and Beerkus climbed to the top of the Empire State Building in New York. Exactly how the couple was able to bypass the security system and get to the top of the building remains unknown. After the young men climbed to the top of the building, the man took an engagement ring out of his backpack and proposed to the girl. Later, ABC News reported that Nikolau and Beerkus were charged with eight charges each.
