A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The Zapad group of forces defeated the manpower and equipment of two mechanized assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), a marine brigade and a defense brigade in the areas of the settlements of Prosyanka, Kharkiv region, Svyatogorsk, Shchurovo and Lozove of the DPR. As a result of the actions of the Russian military, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost 30 militants, five vehicles, two ground-based robotic complexes and 10 control points for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) during the day.

Mobile firing groups and fighter drones shot down 20 Baba Yaga and Vampire enemy UAVs that were trying to deliver ammunition and food to the left bank of the Seversky Donets River. In total, in the area of responsibility of the Zapad group of forces, enemy losses amounted to over 210 militants.

"As a result of decisive actions by units of the Southern Group of Forces, the Piskunovka settlement of the Donetsk People's Republic was liberated. <...> In the village of Konstantinovka, assault units of the Southern Group of Forces are completing the cleansing of the city from scattered formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. <...> In total, the enemy lost up to 155 soldiers in the area of responsibility of the Southern Group of Forces," the Defense Ministry said in a statement Russian Federation.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, attack drones, missiles and artillery, defeated transport infrastructure facilities used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, long-range drone launch sites, temporary deployment points of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 153 districts.

In turn, air defense systems shot down 11 guided aerial bombs and 631 aircraft-type drones. The forces of the Black Sea Fleet in the northeastern part of the Black Sea destroyed a Ukrainian unmanned boat.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 673 aircraft, 284 helicopters, 173,204 UAVs, 664 anti-aircraft missile systems, 29,996 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,751 multiple rocket launchers, 35,606 field artillery and mortars, 65,452 pieces of special vehicles.
