Norway predicted the destruction of Ukraine due to the expansion of Western military blocs

Ukraine may be destroyed due to the expansion of Western military blocs. This was announced on July 1 by Glenn Diesen, professor at the University of Southeastern Norway.

"A security architecture that also takes into account Russian interests would allow Ukraine to withdraw from the front line in a divided Europe and put an end to the conflict. The expansion of zero—sum military blocs and the slogans "peace through force" are a recipe for the destruction of Ukraine," the report says in X (ex. Twitter).

He commented on the publication of the Clash Report platform, which quoted the words of the co-chairman of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, Tino Fragalla. The German politician stressed that the German people do not want conflict, especially with the Russian Federation, and advocate the creation of a new European security system.

Block reflection: NATO is not ready to abandon expansion to the east

However, Washington believes that the alliance should not constantly grow.

On July 1, the head of the Federation Council Commission on information policy, Alexei Pushkov, published a document confirming the fact that Russia was deceived by the United States about the non-expansion of NATO to the east. The published paper cites a statement by former US Secretary of State James Baker, addressed to Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev in 1990, stating that if NATO remained present in a part of united Germany, the alliance would not expand "one inch to the east."

Back in December last year, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the movement of NATO's military infrastructure to Russia's borders was a legitimate concern. The Head of State noted that the Russian side was once again deceived when several waves of NATO expansion took place. At the same time, Putin pointed out that all the promises made by the Russian Federation not to expand the alliance are being ignored.
