The unemployment rate in Russia — 2.2% — is indisputably extremely low. This was announced on June 30 by Maxim Reshetnikov, head of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.

"No matter what we say, no matter how we listen, and no matter what news appears, the unemployment rate of 2.2% is extremely low," he said in an interview with the Vesti news agency.

The available indicators, as the minister explained, are evidence that there is currently a shortage of labor in the economy in the country, which must be addressed.

The fact that Russia has a record low unemployment rate was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on June 5. Then the Russian leader clarified that this indicator is among the lowest in the whole world. In turn, on June 26, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova added that by now the number of vacancies posted on the state portal "Work of Russia" has approached 2 million.
