The CSTO proposed to create an executive body for emergencies

The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) proposed to give the Coordinating Council for Emergency Situations (KSCS) the status of an executive body. This was announced by Valery Semerikov, Deputy Secretary General of the organization, on Tuesday, June 30, at the 17th meeting of the CSCE, which is being held in St. Petersburg.

According to him, the structure is proposed to be transformed into the Council of Heads of Authorized Bodies of the CSTO member states for Emergency Situations. Semerikov stressed that the need for changes is due to the nature of emerging threats that require immediate action from all participants in the organization.

"This is due to the fact that man-made and natural emergencies do not depend on the military and political situation in a particular state or region and require us to be constantly ready to respond to victims and eliminate the consequences of emergencies," the CSTO Deputy Secretary General added.

Military personnel from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are being trained to rescue hostages and conduct peacekeeping missions at the Indestructible Brotherhood 2025 maneuvers.

On June 3, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov announced that documents had been signed aimed at further developing the components of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Forces.
