The announced schedules of possible hourly power outages in Ukraine threaten to turn into a disaster for the country's energy and business. This was announced on Monday, June 29, by Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, Deputy Head of the Committee on Energy and Housing and Communal Services Alexei Kucherenko.

"It's (a blackout. — Ed.), first of all, it will hit the business. <...> We will immediately see an increase in prices for services, goods, and so on. To gas stations, electric cars, and for sure it will go on like a chain reaction. It's not worth waiting for a miracle," he said on the Novini TV channel.LIVE».

According to the politician, the situation is complicated by corrupt tariff plan collection schemes, which impose an additional burden on consumers. Kucherenko also drew attention to the distribution of income in the regions, noting that funds go to private owners of energy facilities.

Stanislav Ignatiev, head of the Council of the Ukrainian Renewable Energy Association, said on June 27 that this summer season, domestic consumers in Ukraine may face temporary power outages lasting up to five hours a day.
