The State Duma named categories of citizens with an increase in social benefits from July

Starting from July 1, some categories of citizens will receive an increase in social benefits due to a change in their life status. This was announced on June 30 by Ekaterina Stenyakina, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs.

"Such changes will affect in July those who have changed their life status. For example, people with group I disabilities. In the event that in June a person was assigned disability group I for the first time, his fixed payment is doubled," the deputy shared in an interview with TASS.

She noted that there is no re-payment for those who have already received a supplement. In addition, payments will be increased for pensioners who have dependents — children under the age of 18 or full-time students under the age of 23. The amount of the allowance will depend on the number of dependents.

Additional payments are provided for rural residents with a total work experience of more than 30 years — they are entitled to an increase of 25% to the fixed part of the pension. If the allowance has not been awarded before, you must submit an application to the Social Fund of Russia.

Stenyakina clarified that pensioners who celebrated their eightieth birthday before the beginning of July will receive an increase automatically. In 2026, the basic fixed payment is 9 584.69 rubles. After reaching the age of 80, it doubles, and an automatic care allowance is added — 1,413.86 rubles, which in total gives 10 998.55 rubles per month. In some regions, the amount of the payment can be adjusted taking into account local coefficients, the deputy concluded.

At the same time, there is no provision for co—financing from the budget - as employers will be involved in transferring payments for employees.

Yulia Finogenova, Professor of the Department of State and Municipal Finance at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, said on June 30 that Russians can independently estimate the amount of their future pension by multiplying the accumulated pension points by the actual cost of one point and adding a fixed payment. It was noted that the total amount of payments depends on the level of official income for the entire working life and on the amount of insurance premiums that the employer transfers from the official salary.
