Construction of the Yuzhny Port station on the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya metro line has begun in Moscow. This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, in his channel in Maks.

The new station will be located on the developing territory of the former Yuzhny Port industrial zone. It will improve the transport accessibility of the Yuzhnoportovy district, the mayor emphasized. Construction is expected to be completed in 2030.

"The station is being built in an open manner on the stretch between Kozhukhovskaya and Pechatniki," said the head of the capital. He noted that two shore platforms and two land-based vestibules are planned. The area around the station will be improved, and a convenient pedestrian network will be laid out for passengers.

In addition, a road tunnel is stretched over the station complex. It will run from Yuzhnoportovy Passage 2 to Yuzhnoportovaya Street and will become part of a new highway connecting the Third Transport Ring with Lyublinskaya Street. The tunnel will open a transit route for motorists through the entire Pechatniki district, the mayor of Moscow emphasized.

Earlier, Sobyanin noted that Pechatniki is becoming one of the key development areas of the capital, where the city authorities are implementing major projects to upgrade the transport system and form a high-tech industrial base. In particular, a surface metro has been launched in the district, modern city stations have been opened and the network of public transport routes has been expanded. The construction of the Biryulevskaya metro line with the Kuryanovo station is also planned for the coming years.
