On June 28, the match of the third round of Group L of the 2026 FIFA World Cup ended at the Lincoln Financial Field stadium in Philadelphia, in which the Croatian national team beat the Ghanaian team 2-1.

The Croats took the lead in the 31st minute thanks to Petar Sucic's goal. After the break, Derick Luckassen regained his balance, but in the 83rd minute Nikola Vlasic brought his team victory.

Following the results of the group stage, the Croatian national team took the second place in the group with six points and advanced to the playoffs. The Ghanaian team scored four points and finished third.
