This year, more than 113 thousand ninth-graders from the capital took the exam. A record number of budget college places will be available for them — about 50 thousand, said Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development.

According to her, 90% of the children who chose four OGE passed it "well." This will allow them to successfully enter the 10th grade and then continue their studies at the university, said Rakova.

Those who continue their studies in the 10th grade will be able to choose one of the pre-professional classes: medical, engineering, psychological and pedagogical, entrepreneurial, IT or media class. "Pre—professional training helps the capital's schoolchildren achieve high results on the Unified State Exam from year to year, which we see in the interim results of this year," the deputy mayor noted.

She said that almost 42 thousand chose college and two subjects, which is 6 thousand more people than last year. Given the growing interest, Moscow has increased the number of budget places in city colleges by a third this year, from 37,000 to 50,000, Rakova recalled.

"In addition, we have opened eight new areas of study relevant to the economy. To make admission more convenient, we have introduced a priority system for the children," said the deputy mayor. Now the applicant determines in advance which specialty is the most important for him, and which is the reserve one. If there are enough points for the first priority, it is guaranteed to be credited, if not, the system automatically offers the next option.

Rakova recalled that on June 20, the admission campaign to the Moscow City Pedagogical University was launched. This year, for the first time, targeted recruitment will be opened, which will provide free education and guaranteed employment in Moscow schools. In total, 1,150 budget places have been allocated for bachelor's and basic higher education programs, about 60% of them are targeted, the rest will be distributed through a general competition.
