A veteran of the SVO told about the failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces counterattack on Pavlovka in the DPR

On June 24, Georgy Suboch, a veteran of the special operation, shared the story of how, on his own initiative, he opened fire from an AGS-17 automatic grenade launcher and thwarted a counterattack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Pavlovka in the Donetsk People's Republic. For his brave actions, the fighter later received the medal "For Military Honors."

"I heard on the radio that our guys were being squeezed. Grenades have already gone into battle, which says a lot that the end is near. Then I went directly to the company commander and asked him to cover the guys with my fire, which I got permission for, and we started firing randomly. We fired about 800 shells from the AGS-17 and thus we stopped the counteroffensive," he told RIA Novosti.

In the period 2024-2025, Suboch served in the ranks of the 155th Separate Guards Orders of Zhukov and Suvorov Marine Brigade named after twice Hero of the Russian Federation Major General M. E. Gudkov. During his time in the special operation zone, the fighter earned two medals "For Bravery" and the medal "For Military Honors". Today, he works as a firefighter in the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Magadan region.
