The memorial office of Marietta Chudakova (1937-2021), a Soviet and Russian literary critic, Doctor of Philology, professor, and one of the founders of scientific Bulgakov studies, has been recreated in the scientific and educational center of the Mikhail Bulgakov Museum in Moscow. It houses a unique collection of handwritten documents that researchers of the writer's work can work with, from schoolchildren to applicants for academic degrees. This was reported on June 23 on the official Internet portal of the capital. mos.ru .

The space features a desk, a personal library, manuscripts, photographs, and audio recordings with the researcher's voice. Her archive is also kept in the museum's collection of handwritten documents.

Marietta Chudakova graduated from the Faculty of Philology at Moscow State University in 1959, where she met her future husband, Alexander Chudakov, who later became a doctor of Philology and researcher of Anton Chekhov's work. In graduate school, she took up the problem of the author's word in the literature of the Soviet era. According to her observations, Bulgakov's main characters in novels serve as mediums through which the author speaks. A striking example is Alexei Turbin in The White Guard, through whose emotional experiences the writer conveys a sense of historical catastrophe.

The fund contains the archives of other Bulgakov scholars: philologist Alexander Ninov, who organized the first international Bulgakov readings, Devlet Gireev, who studied the Caucasian period of the writer's life, and Boris Myagkov, who studied literary topography and the family tree of the Bulgakov family. Many materials are available for study at the reading tables.

Every year brings new discoveries in the study of the writer's life and work: funds are replenished, researchers find unknown letters, clarify biographical facts and revise the usual interpretations. The center is becoming a place where up-to-date knowledge about Bulgakov is being formed, the organizers noted.

The center also hosts lectures, public talks, and open interviews with philologists, translators, artists, and editors. There is a music lounge where educational activities are combined with performances.

The Moscow Theater Center "Cherry Orchard" under the direction of Alexander Vilkin, as also reported on mos.ru On June 15, it offers a large selection of performances based on the works of Anton Chekhov, Ivan Turgenev, Alexei Tolstoy and other Russian classics, tickets can be purchased using the Mosbilet service.

The Moskino Film Park, as reported on June 8, has prepared monthly excursions for silver age citizens as part of a special program "Travel through life with Moscow Longevity." For the convenience of visitors, there are places for recreation, guided tours and comfortable buses. The project helps older people to actively spend time and get acquainted with the cultural heritage of Russia.
