Russian rapier player Borodachev won the bronze medal at the European Championships
On June 18, Russian rapier player Anton Borodachev won the bronze medal at the European Fencing Championships, which takes place in the French commune of Anthony.
In the semifinal bout, Borodachev lost to Frenchman Rafael Savin. The match ended with a score of 11:15 in favor of the French representative.
Borodachev is 26 years old. For the athlete, this award was the first personal medal at the European Championships. Previously, the rapier player became the silver medalist of the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Borodachev won the Grand Prix Fencing Competition in Shanghai on May 17. In the decisive match, the 26-year-old athlete was stronger than the Pole Andrzej Jadkowski — 15:9. This title at competitions of this level was the first for the Russian in his career.
