FC Milan has announced the appointment of Ruben Amorim as head coach
Milan Football Club (FC) has announced the appointment of Ruben Amorim as the head coach of the team. This was announced on June 16 on the official website of the Italian club.
"We've been following Ruben for a long time, and his work at Sporting is impressive. It reflects the style of play that we are looking for. He is one of the most trained and innovative coaches of the new European generation — young, ambitious, with a modern football identity," said Jerry Cardinale, Managing Partner at RedBird Capital Partners.
Amorim himself noted that he dreamed of leading Milan throughout his coaching career. He stressed that he understands what this club means to fans all over the world.
Amorim started his coaching career in 2018. He previously led Sporting, with whom he won two Portuguese championships, two League Cups and a Super Cup. At the Milan club, the specialist replaced Sergio Conceicau as head coach.
Milan's next matches will be against Celtic, Inter, Chelsea and, previously led by him, Manchester United.
Earlier, on January 5, it was reported that Amorim resigned as head coach of Manchester United. The statement stated that the team's management reluctantly decided that changes were necessary.
