Lavrov accused Zelensky of playing to the public instead of conducting diplomacy

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky plays for the public, and also on the piano, rather than conducting real diplomacy. This was announced on Tuesday, June 16, by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during a press conference following talks with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Moscow.

"He (Zelensky. — Ed.) plays to the public, he's used to playing to the public. And also on the piano," he said.

Accordingly, the head of the Russian foreign ministry made a reference to a number called "Playing the piano without hands," which was performed by the Ukrainian president 10 years ago, even before his election in 2016.

Zelensky, as Lavrov stressed, is, among other things, engaged in so-called "megaphone" rather than real diplomacy, sending vague signals to others.
