Vladimir Kuzmin, the creator of the Polyvox synthesizer, has died.

Vladimir Kuzmin, the developer and creator of the Soviet Polyvox synthesizer, died on Friday, June 12, after a third stroke. This was announced on June 15 by the press service of the Experimental Factory of Electronic Musical Instruments (EFEMI).

"It is with great surprise and regret that we inform you that on June 12, after the third stroke, Vladimir Mikhailovich Kuzmin, the developer and creator of the legendary Soviet Polyvox synthesizer, died," the Telegram channel said.

Kuzmin initiated the creation of the tool. The prototype of the device was ready in 1980, and two years later its mass production began.

Polyvox is a portable electro—musical synthesizer that has been used to perform works of any genre, create sound effects in movies, plays, and studio recordings. The instrument became world famous: musicians of various rock bands, including Agatha Christie and Rammstein, played on it.
