Iran-US Agreement

Pashinyan's party holds 64 seats in the Armenian parliament.

Chairman of the Central Election Commission Vahagn Hovakimyan announced at a CEC meeting on June 14 that according to the results of the parliamentary elections, the ruling Civil Contract Party of Armenia, led by Nikol Pashinyan, achieved a constitutional majority: it won 64 out of 105 mandates in the Parliament of the republic (3/5 votes).

The Civil Contract can now single-handedly form a government and has 3/5 votes to adopt constitutional laws, but does not have the 2/3 majority necessary to amend the Constitution.

At the same time, six opposition parties in Armenia on June 14 in a joint statement called the parliamentary elections held in the country illegitimate. The text of the document states that the June 7 vote does not reflect the will of the Armenian people.
