Celebrations were held across the country on Russia Day.
As part of the celebration of Russia Day on June 12, residents of different cities organized festive actions and participated in them.
More than 500 activists took part in a festive performance in Moscow: They performed folk dances in national costumes, then lined up in the word "Russia" and solemnly unfurled the National Flag of the Russian Federation.
A large-scale celebration was also held in St. Petersburg.‑St. Petersburg, where over 1.5 thousand participants organized a festive procession with flags. On Baltiyskaya Square, the protesters lined up in a heart shape and chanted in unison: "Russia!".
Members of the Young Guard of United Russia demonstrated their active civic position in a number of cities: actions with the participation of activists were held in Kazan, Lugansk, Belgorod, Samara, Penza and Rostov‑on‑Don. The participants of the events unfurled Russian flags, distributed patriotic paraphernalia to the citizens — badges and St. George ribbons — and chanted patriotic slogans. In the Nizhny Novgorod region, the holiday was celebrated with a sporting event: local activists organized a mass race.
Military personnel also joined the celebration. In Kamchatka, soldiers of the Pacific Fleet, including participants in the special military operation (SVO), held a solemn action — they unfurled the National flag of the Russian Federation with a length of 100 m. The first Russian airlift parade was held in Chukotka in honor of Russia Day.
And in Magadan, in the Mayak Park on the embankment, despite the cloudy weather, musicians of the Brass and pop Music Orchestra performed.
Maria Kutarova, Associate Professor of the Department of Business, Labor and Corporate Law at the Presidential Academy, announced on June 12 that Russians will rest for three days this year, from June 12 to June 14. The publication notes that there is only one additional day off in this year's calendar — November 4, when the country celebrates National Unity Day.
