Reshetnikov invited the UAE to participate in the management of hotels in Russia
On June 11, the Head of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Maxim Reshetnikov, invited the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to participate in the management of Russian hotels.
"The Emirates are discovering the largest Russian hospitality market with growing demand and large-scale infrastructure projects that are being implemented here <...> And, of course, we expect to attract investors to these projects, including investors from the United Arab Emirates, and accordingly we have new opportunities to manage these facilities."— he said at the International Travel Forum "Travel!" in Moscow.
Reshetnikov added that more than one million classified rooms have now been built in Russia. He stressed that these are 30,000 objects in the mountains, on the coasts and in rural areas. In addition, there are 400 ski resorts. Reshetnikov noted that 11 large year-round seaside resorts are also being built. According to him, this is only a preferential program supported by subsidies from the federal budget.
The Minister emphasized. that the UAE's experience in the field of tourism is long and Russia is interested in it. He clarified that it is necessary to strive to develop competition in the Russian market, increase the number of qualified management companies and the quality of hotel services.
Denis Manturov, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian government, said on May 26 that trade between Russia and the UAE increased 1.5 times in 2025 and reached a historic maximum of $14 billion. The First Deputy Prime Minister noted that Moscow expects the Economic Partnership Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the UAE to enter into force by the end of this year, which will help improve the quality of trade and achieve its greater balance.
