The current President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, announced on June 10 his plans to resign and then run for the post of prime minister.

"I plan to resign, I will notify you about it, there will be no surprises for anyone. I started packing books at the presidential residence, I have a lot of them," he said on Radio Belgrade.

According to him, the Serbian leader may make the appropriate decision even earlier than in three or four months. At the same time, he is "every day" thinking about his candidacy for Prime Minister of Serbia.

Pavel Danilin, a political scientist and director of the Center for Political Analysis, listed Vucic's possible successors on May 26. So, two political figures can take his post: Vladan Petrov and Vladan Jokic. The former, as the expert explained, adheres to a conservative policy, while the latter is a puppet of the European Union. Danilin made the corresponding assumption two days after Vucic himself announced that he might resign soon.

The head of the Russian diplomatic mission in Serbia, Alexander Botan-Kharchenko, indicated on May 26 that the heads of European states are seeking a change of power in the country, and are also trying in every possible way to weaken Vucic politically.
