Military personnel of Russia and Laos conducted joint special forces training

At the training ground of the Army Academy "Commadam", Russian and Laotian military personnel conducted a joint training session to capture a target of conditional terrorists. This was reported on June 11 in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

As part of the Typhoon 2026 special forces training course, military personnel of the Eastern Military District, led by Colonel Ivan Taraev, Assistant Commander of the District for International Cooperation, demonstrated to the Minister of Defense of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Army General Khamlieng Uthakaison, the actions of Russian and Lao special forces to storm the base of conditional terrorists.

According to the exercise scenario, a joint special forces group discovered the forces of a conditional illegal armed group and requested the support of a mortar battery and a unit of attack drones. A Russian-Laotian landing force was deployed to block the area and intercept the retreating militants.

After an artillery strike and the work of FPV drones, special forces groups on buggies began to storm the facility. The Minister of Defense of Laos was also shown the actions of special units to protect a high-ranking official during an attack on a motorcade.

The event ended with a demonstration of modern Russian weapons and equipment, including sniper rifles, reconnaissance and FPV drones, electronic warfare systems, robotic ground systems and high-penetration equipment. The presented samples, as noted, are successfully used when performing tasks in the zone of a special military operation (SVO).

The practical skills acquired during the Typhoon-2026 course are planned to be used during the joint Russian-Lao Laros-2026 exercises.
