When talking to scammers, you cannot say the words "yes", "I confirm" and "I agree", attackers can write them down and cut them out of context to use for voice confirmation of operations. On June 10, Valentina Shilina, the head of the city's online project "Call me Back" at the Moscow Department of Information Technology, warned about this.

"In a conversation with a scammer, your own word can become a weapon against you. There are several categories of phrases that absolutely must not be uttered, no matter how convincing the voice on the other end of the line may sound. The words "yes", "I confirm", "I agree" — they can be cut out of context and used for voice confirmation of transactions on your behalf, for example, in a bank," she told RIA Novosti.

With the help of synthesized speech, fraudsters can glue individual words into a whole phrase — "yes, I confirm the translation." The best rule is to say nothing except "I'll call you back now," and then hang up, the expert added.
