Two bird watching sites have been opened in Teriberka Park
Two bird-watching viewing platforms have appeared in the Teriberka Nature Park in the Murmansk Region. The objects were located in the bird market area.
Each observation deck was equipped with binoculars and information boards with descriptions of local species, Bi-port news agency writes. According to Dmitry Bannikov, the regional Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology, the new facilities should streamline tourist routes and relieve vulnerable areas of the ecosystem. Tourists will be able to watch the birds without disturbing them, and the nature of the park will have additional protection.
The infrastructure was created as part of the first stage of the Wings of the Arctic regional project. Thanks to him, environmental clean-ups are held in the natural park, tour guides are trained, and educational materials are created for tourists.
The Presidential Foundation for Nature provides financial support for the project. In the future, another observation deck will be built in the park and hiking trails will be built between the objects.
Earlier it was reported that the "Tourism for your own" program will start in the Murmansk region on June 10. It will give Northerners the opportunity to make free excursions around the region. About 5,000 people will be able to take part in it this year. The plan includes trips to Kandalaksha, Kola, Murmansk, Umba, Kirovsk, Apatity, Teriberka, Severomorsk, Lovozero, as well as to the Pechenga district. The tours will be on foot and with a transfer.
