A program with free excursions will be launched in the Murmansk region
The Tourism for Your Own program starts in the Murmansk Region on June 10. It will give Northerners the opportunity to make free excursions around the region.
The details of the program were reported at the weekly operational meeting of the regional government. About 5,000 people will be able to take part in it this year.
The plan includes trips to Kandalaksha, Kola, Murmansk, Umba, Kirovsk, Apatity, Teriberka, Everomorsk, Lovozero, as well as to the Pechenga district. The tours will be on foot and with a transfer.
There was no information yet about which categories of the population will receive priority when signing up for free excursions, writes the Bi-port news agency. The regional Ministry of Tourism and the Murmansk Region TIC should complete the preparation of the project no later than June 12.
Earlier it was reported that the Murmansk region entered the top 10 popular Russian regions with ski resorts in the winter season of 2025-2026. Such data was provided by Yandex Travel and Alice AI services. The share of the northern region in the total number of bookings was 2%. The average price per night in a hotel or apartment was 9.1 thousand rubles.
