"An application to the reception is a mandatory step. The representatives of the hotel must record the theft. Then, together with the hotel staff, you need to call the police and get a copy or photo of the protocol — without this document, it will be extremely difficult to count on insurance or compensation from the hotel," ATOR explained in an interview. Experts also advise you to immediately block bank cards, and if your passport is stolen, contact the Russian consulate. The tour operator, according to ATOR, is responsible for the flight, transfer and accommodation, but not for the safety of personal belongings.
