Two adults and two children living in Nurlat in the Republic of Tatarstan were gassed by a pigeon stuck in a water heater pipe. This was reported on June 8 on the website of the press service of the state housing Inspectorate for the region.
"Children born in 2013 and 2018 were hospitalized, a woman born in 1985 and a man born in 1979 were also injured," the report says.
The incident occurred on June 7 at 04:13 a.m. in house No. 2, located on Karl Marx Street. The last maintenance at this address was carried out in April 2026.
The specialists who arrived at the scene determined that the ventilation duct was working properly at the facility, and there was also a draft. Later, they found a pigeon in the flue duct of the gas water heater, which caused the incident.
On June 1, employees of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Dagestan reported carbon monoxide poisoning of six people living in an apartment building. The victims included two minors. It was noted that the situation had been brought under control.
