By 2030, the annual flow of foreign tourists to Russia may increase to 16 million people. This was announced on June 8 on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Forum (SPIEF-2026) by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.

"In 2026, we expect to receive up to 7 million foreign guests, and by 2030, we will reach an annual figure of 16 million," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

Chernyshenko noted that in 2025, the number of foreign tourists visiting Russia amounted to almost 6 million people.

Ilya Umansky, President of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (PCT), announced on May 27 that interest in tours in Russia for the upcoming summer season decreased by 4.8% compared to 2025, thus, after market saturation and the strengthening of the ruble, foreign destinations became more attractive for travel. He noted that such a correction occurred after the saturation point of the market in the tourism industry. In 2024, the demand for domestic tourism increased by more than 15%, and last year ended in the range of 5%.
