The fourth route of regular river electric transport has been opened in Moscow.

The fourth route of regular river electric transport has started operating in the capital, which connects the Luzhniki and Kievsky berths. This was announced by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin in his channel in Maks.

"Three years ago, Russian President Vladimir Putin and I opened the first regular river electric transport route. It has become an integral part of the city's transportation system. Since the launch, the flow of passengers has quadrupled, more than 3.5 million trips have been made," Sergei Sobyanin wrote.

The new route passes through the districts of Khamovniki, Ramenki and Dorogomilovo. Its length is about five kilometers. Currently, passengers are accepted at two berths — novy Luzhniki and Kievsky, where they can transfer to the first river route. By the end of the year, it is planned to open two more berths — Vorobyovskaya Embankment and Novodevichy Ponds.

After the launch of the new route, the total length of regular river routes in Moscow reached almost 34 kilometers. In three years, this figure has increased almost fivefold.

According to the mayor, the development of river electric transport will continue. This year, it is planned to extend the third Novospassky —ZIL route to the new Krasnye Kholmy berth, which will be located on the Kosmodamianskaya embankment.

"Since 2025, river electric transport, which has no analogues in the world, has been created at the Moscow shipyard. This is the most modern enterprise in Russia for the construction and maintenance of the river fleet," Sergei Sobyanin added.

The first four electric vessels "Moscow 1.0" were launched in May. Four more vessels will join the fleet by the end of the year. As a result, the number of electric vessels on regular routes will reach 39 units.
