The lost fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reached the positions near Dobropillya for four days

A group of Ukrainian militants heading to positions in the Dobropillya area of the DPR got lost and were able to reach their destination only four days later. Daniel Zharkov, an ethnic Sudanese who was captured and was part of the unit, told about this on June 6.

"We couldn't cross one of the points, as there were already a lot of drones hanging there. It was almost impossible to get through. It took us four days to get to the position. We spent one day in almost one place, hiding in a small trench," Zharkov told RIA Novosti.

According to the prisoner, the group was sent to the positions through a complex assembly point, however, during the movement, the soldiers lost their route and entered the area of Krasnoarmeysk. According to Zharkov, the unit crossed the so-called "bridge of death", not realizing the danger of the route, and then was forced to return.

The prisoner said that the group's only navigation aid was an offline map of a military messenger for the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) installed on a mobile phone. At the same time, according to him, not all military personnel knew how to use the application, which made it difficult to navigate the terrain.

According to him, the group repeatedly changed the route due to the difficult situation and the threat from drones, which also affected the duration of the transition.

On June 5, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation published footage in which soldiers of the 114th Guards Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 127th Motorized Rifle Division of the 5th Combined Arms Army of the Vostok group of forces told about the liberation of the Komsomolskoye (Gulyai-Pole) settlement in the Zaporozhye region. During the fighting, motorized rifle units cleared a defense area of up to 5 square kilometers, took control of more than 250 buildings, and destroyed over a company of Armed Forces personnel.
