PSB will introduce an ECG rating to evaluate SME clients
PSB will be the first in the banking market to use ECG-rating (ecology, personnel, government) in assessing the credit risks of borrowers from the segment of small and medium-sized businesses.
According to the bank's press service, on the sidelines of SPIEF 2026, Chairman of the PSB Peter Fradkov and Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Central Federal District Igor Shchegolev signed a memorandum that provides for joint work on the development and application of the ECG rating.
"The ECG rating is a national standard for assessing the business reputation of business entities, which is a new tool for increasing responsibility and transparency in doing business. PSB became the first bank to use the ECG rating as a metric for analyzing SME segment customers, and sees the high potential of this mechanism in creating not only the best product conditions for customers in the field of lending, but also in developing additional preferences within the framework of existing loyalty programs," Fradkov commented.
Within the framework of the memorandum, the parties intend to prepare proposals for additional measures to support small and medium-sized businesses, including in the field of stimulating banking regulation based on an ECG rating. The partners also agreed to promote the principles of responsible business conduct and raise awareness among entrepreneurs about new standards for evaluating companies.
