The Russian Foreign Ministry pointed to the West's awareness of the perniciousness of refusing to cooperate with the Russian Federation.

The peoples of Western European countries understand that the policy of their governments to abandon cooperation with Russia is suicidal. This was announced on June 4 on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum by the Official Representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"The peoples of Western European countries understand where their regimes have led them, they demand decisive actions to overcome the crisis, they understand that abandoning cooperation with Russia, Russian resources, and normal mutually respectful coexistence in a single European space has become simply suicidal," she said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
