Moscow has chosen the best menus for school breakfasts

On June 1, the New Healthy Generation festival was held in one of the districts of Moscow, where participants tested the options of the updated school menu. As part of the event, which combined family sports exercises and a gastronomic program, a vote was organized for the most successful dishes for students.

Representatives of the New People party said that the aim of the project is to choose the optimal diet for educational institutions through a nationwide survey. According to them, five menu options are involved in the testing, which should combine benefits and high taste qualities.

"The menus that parents and children like the most, we promote them in schools," said Alexei Nechaev, head of the New People faction in the Russian State Duma.

He stressed that the presented options are designed to solve the problem of choosing between healthy and delicious food by combining these characteristics into a single standard. It is assumed that the dishes that became winners based on the results of testing will form the basis of proposals to change the nutrition system in educational institutions of the country.

On May 26, Valentina Ivanova, an expert at the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, listed preferential criteria for hot meals in schools. According to her, students of the first and fourth grades, children from large families, families of participants in a special military operation (SVO), as well as students with disabilities have the right to free hot meals in Russian schools.
