On April 26, the DPRK tested a new multi-purpose light missile launch system and a system of tactical multiple launch rocket cruise missiles, which work, among other things, on the basis of artificial intelligence (AI) technology. This was reported on May 27 by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

"The tactical cruise missile, which has a terminal control function based on artificial intelligence technology combined with a high—precision self-guided navigation system with a topographic mapping navigation system, is a powerful tactical weapon that will deliver a precision strike at a target at a distance of 100 km in a planned and propulsion combined flight," the publication says.

It is noted that the DPRK Chairman Kim Jong-un personally observed the progress of the tests. It is reported that he gave a positive assessment of the military significance of the tactical cruise missile. It is expected that the new weapon will be adopted by long-range artillery brigades in the southern border region.

"It deserves special appreciation that the firing control system and the automatic system of all launchers have been completely updated to take into account the suitable conditions of modern combat, which has increased their applicability in combat conditions," Kim Jong—un stressed.

On May 26, the DPRK also launched an unidentified projectile in the direction of the Yellow Sea. As reported by the Yonhap news agency, Seoul is analyzing flight data.

KCNA reported on April 20 that the DPRK General Directorate of Rocket Science conducted a test launch of modified Hwasongpho–11 Ra tactical surface-to-surface ballistic missiles. It is noted that we are talking about missiles of this type, designed for tactical use.
