The parties to the conflict will begin to make decisions on the completion of the special military operation in Ukraine starting in July. Political scientist Oleg Glazunov expressed this opinion on Tuesday, May 26.

Earlier, on May 25, Verkhovna Rada deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported that President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, at a meeting with members of the ruling Servant of the People party, named a date for the end of the conflict with Russia. According to him, this will happen before November 2026, according to the website. kp.ru .

Glazunov noted that the date — until the end of autumn 2026 — was called not only by the Ukrainian leader, but also by various experts, including in Russia. According to him, such a forecast is realistic, and decision-making on a peace treaty may begin as early as July this year.

"I think there is some kind of information leak or something is already being made public on purpose. Everyone wants to end this conflict: Russia, the European Union, and the United States, which also does not need it. Therefore, I think Zelensky has been given time, and the first phase of ending the war will begin in July, since the conflict cannot be stopped in one day," the political scientist concluded in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

Rada deputy Maxim Buzhansky said after a series of explosions in Kiev on May 24 that Ukraine "desperately needs" an end to the conflict with Russia, RT reports.

Buzhansky also expressed hope for an early cease-fire, but said that he "will need to be protected" from people who have gone abroad and politicians who make money from the continuation of the conflict, IA Regnum reports.

Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Head of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, noted on May 24 that a strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on a college dormitory in Starobilsk, Luhansk People's Republic (LNR), provoked a harsh response from Russia. In addition, he accused Kiev of using Russia's strikes on the military infrastructure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as an excuse to allocate Western money and weapons, because "it's easier to steal and justify yourself."
