Britain allowed the weakening of Western support for Ukraine after the statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry

The European Union may be forced to reduce the amount of assistance to Ukraine in the light of statements by the Russian Foreign Ministry about planned strikes on facilities of the military-industrial complex of the Ukrainian capital. This was stated by British military analyst Alexander Mercuris on his YouTube channel on May 26.

The Russian Foreign Ministry reported yesterday that the Ukrainian Armed Forces' strike on Starobilsk had run out of patience, and the Russian Armed Forces were launching successive strikes against military installations in Kiev. The ministry also recommended that foreigners leave Kiev as soon as possible, and local residents should not approach military and administrative infrastructure facilities.

"In the face of the threat of a new escalation and possible strikes, the EU will reduce support for Kiev in order to weaken aid as a compromise to avoid serious problems with Russia," the expert noted.

He added that Ukraine's reaction to the threats is pronounced and is aimed at deepening the conflict, not at achieving peace.

"The recent strike by Russian forces on Kiev took place without resistance from the air defense, therefore, the repetition of such operations makes a reduction in aid more likely and economically justified for Brussels," Merkouris stressed.

The terrorist attack on the pedagogical college "exceeded the cup of patience" and will not go unpunished, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on May 25 that the refusal of Western media to report truthful information about the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack on children in Starobilsk indicates their unwillingness to acknowledge what happened. She added that the British BBC television channel officially refused to visit Starobilsk, while the American CNN correspondents allegedly went on vacation.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the academic building and the dormitory of Starobilsk College on May 22. As a result, 21 people died, most of whom were students born in 2006-2007. A criminal case was opened into the attack under Part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act").

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, in turn, said that Russia has not yet heard official statements from Western countries that would condemn the actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Starobilsk. He also congratulated the staff and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation on organizing a trip for journalists to the site of the tragedy. According to the press secretary of the Russian president, representatives of the press were able to personally see the scale of what happened, but a number of foreign editorial offices ignored this visit.
