The State Duma revealed the purpose of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack on Yaroslavl

Yaroslavl is a city with the largest refinery in Russia, so the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attacked the region. Alexey Chepa, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, expressed this opinion on Monday, May 25.

"Yaroslavl is primarily a large oil refinery. We understand that these are attempts to cause damage. When they can't do it, they hit civilian targets, as they did in Luhansk," the deputy said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

According to the parliamentarian, Russia understands that drones are launched in some regions not from the territory of Ukraine.

"And this is not news. It is also not news that European countries are [helping], first of all it is intelligence, it is assistance in targeting. Europe is increasing the number of drones supplied," he concluded.

There may be up to 18 victims under the rubble of the destroyed building.

Earlier in the day, the governor of the Yaroslavl region, Mikhail Evraev, announced that one person was injured in a massive attack by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on Yaroslavl, writes RIAMO.

The head of the region added that traffic at the exit from Yaroslavl towards Moscow had been restored, NSN reports. In addition, the governor warned that there may be UAV debris in the region. He urged citizens not to approach them and not to use phones near the wreckage.

Evraev previously reported that as a result of the night attack by Ukrainian UAVs on the Yaroslavl region, traffic was blocked at the exit from the city towards the capital. It was clarified that residents were advised to wait for the "Unmanned danger" signal to go off.
