NMG has presented a new series in the micro-drama format for the Storys platform

On May 25, the National Media Group (NMG) announced the launch of a new original series in the genre of short vertical content. Microdrama "The Twins. The struggle for the heir", as well as the previously released TV series "Pregnant by an oligarch", "Boss for one night" and "Goal right in the heart", will be exclusive to the Storys platform.

The melodrama of 64 short episodes tells about the unusual fate of the sisters. Dasha finds a twin and persuades her to seduce a rich heir in order to free herself from the captivity of despotic guardians.

The TV series "The Twins. The Struggle for the Heir" is NMG's fourth original micro—drama project. In total, there are more than 90 projects in the library of the Stories platform, including popular foreign stories and adapted TV series of the Domashny channel.

The series will be available under the GVOD (Gamified Video on Demand) model. The first eleven episodes will be freely available, and to open the next episodes, the user will either need to open a series for virtual "coins", view ads, or subscribe.

The new project continues the development of NMG's original production of vertical series for the Stories platform, which NMG was the first in Russia to launch in test mode in April 2025. At the end of 2025, NMG was also the first in Russia to release an original series in a short vertical format, "Pregnant by an Oligarch." The original series of its own production was watched 10 times more than the top Chinese projects presented on the platform. In 2026, NMG released the microdramas "Boss for One Night" and "Goal Right in the Heart."

Projects with local specifics, Russian characters, and emotionally intimate plots show high engagement: with the launch of original content, the number of returning users of the platform has doubled, and viewing time has quadrupled. We are consistently developing the microdrama line and strive to offer viewers new formats and models of content consumption, including through a convenient GVOD model that makes the series as accessible as possible to a wide audience," said Elena Karpenko, CEO of the Storis platform.

On April 23, NMG projects were among the finalists of the V National Internet Content Award, the shortlist of which was presented by the Institute for Internet Development (ANO IRI) at the annual press event. Among the finalists from NMG in the nomination "Animated content" is the project "Three cats. Winter Holidays", created by METRAFILMS studio on behalf of CTC JSC. In the Viral Content category, Alexander Ovechkin's "Creative congratulations on the triumphant puck from NMG" will compete for the victory.
