Columns of students and opposition supporters in Belgrade gathered at Slavia Square to commemorate the 16 victims of the collapse of the canopy at the railway station in 2024. This was reported by RIA Novosti on May 23.

During the day, the protesters split up: some went to Republic Square, others to the districts of Zemun and Avtokomanda. Then the foot columns, moving through the blocked streets, reached Slavia Square. The participants carried the national flags of Serbia, the symbols of the faculties, Orthodox banners and a cross, as well as banners with anti-government slogans and images.

The police presence on the square was minimal, and the surrounding streets were blocked.
